A distortion/fuzz with unmatched brutality and versatility. From cutting crunch to tight, articulate and massive, to the sludgiest fuzz, the URUK-HAI brings all that you need for battle. The midrange shift control allows for seemingly endless variations of tone.

The URUK-HAI works by cascading a simplified version of the Valkyrie drive into a Valhalla fuzz, all in the same pedal. The transformer corrects the impedance of the drive circuit to be a perfect match for the fuzz circuit.

For those not afraid of background noise or oscillation, there is a second gain trim pot inside which takes the URUK-HAI even further into fuzz territory.

The Mid control is actually a notch filter which is in some ways like a midrange control although nothing like one on an amplifier. It shifts the width, frequency and amount of midrange simultaneously as it’s adjusted.

In addition to the mid control there is a low pass filter tone control for smoothing those high highs or adding as much sizzle as you like to the top end.
The blackened version uses a UA741 opamp and the black version uses the LM308 opamp also found in the Valkyrie V4.

UPDATE 9/21:
The V5 version of the URUK HAI is now ready!

THE BLACK AND BLACKENED V5 ARE DIFFERENT FROM ONE ANOTHER:
•The UA741 opamp (which comes in the BLACKENED version) has more of the fuzz effect
•The LM308 opamp (which comes in the BLACK version) is tighter, clearer and more of a distortion.
They are as different as a the PI fuzz variations.

This time I’ve added a gate control to the fuzz portion which can act like a gated/Velcro fuzz or even similar to a traditional gate when it’s dialed in as a high gain distortion.
Keep in mind, this is not a "noise gate" or "noise suppressor" circuit, it's a gated fuzz. However, there are many settings that provide an effect similar to a noise gate when using distortion settings.
The V4 internal trim pot for the gain of the fuzz has now been added to the controls.
It’s insane how versatile both versions of this pedal are.
