BALROG DISTORTION MKII

The BALROG DISTORTION MKII brings you the molten high gain fire of MOUNT DOOM through a trio of RC4558 opamps.

The concept of the design was to create a high gain preamp, distortion and overdrive in one.

The new MKII version brings everything from vintage overdrive to contemporary brutal death/black/hardcore tones. Deep lows which can be tightened with the "Depth" control, “throaty” mids and clear crisp highs.

Capable of sheer brutality into even the cleanest amp it can also deliver excellent mid gain overdrive tones as well. From huge overdrive boost to saturated gain it works perfectly for both tube and solid state amps.

The new MKII version includes the new "clickless true bypass" (or "soft touch") switch which uses a clickless momentary switch to trigger a relay as opposed to the standard mechanical method.

The BALROG MKII uses a hybrid of SMD resistors/diodes/semiconductors/ICs but with the important parts (audio film caps, rarer discrete transistors and some ICs) still being through hole.

The pedals themselves will still be handwired, only now they can be done much faster. This means shorter wait times and and the cost savings will go on to you in the form of not having to raise prices and in some cases, lower them!

///Legacy note: The V1 and V2 are the same circuit, the V2 is a printed circuit board where as the V1 was acid etched. Both are discontinued.
///V3 is the same circuit as the MKII only completely through hole parts and mechanical bypass.
