HEIMDALL-2 MKII
A distortion, overdrive and powerful EQ with PARALLEL clean blend designed for LOW BARITONE tunings and BASS (although it works perfectly with all guitars, even standard tuned) think of it as the “deluxe” version of the two.
HEIMDALL-3
A stripped down, compact version of the HEIMDALL-2 without the extra features for those wanting something more straightforward (and yet unique and versatile).
While I love brutal caveman death metal, I am personally more inspired by GODFLESH (who used an HM2 without everything dimed) and wanted something that could get that streetcleaner tone and SO much more.
The original version of the HEIMDALL seemingly endless hours of hard work where I never fully nailed what I was going for. Luckily my years of experience designing and building has allowed close to perfection of those sounds I was going for.
The gain of the MKII is derived from an OP07 for more versatility.
Capable of being more of a classic overdrive / distortion with the soft clipping and still have the ability to as gnarly / fuzzed-out as you want with the MOSFET hard-clipping.
All while maintaining better articulation and note clarity than ever before.

Clean is PARALLEL
This means the signals add together to become louder instead of the "blend" which caused a volume drop as the blend became cleaner.
•RIGHT TOGGLE SWITCH adds a bass boost and low pass to the clean signal.
•Clean can be set to boost above unity, acting as an un-effected boost in parallel with the distortion / EQ
LEFT TOGGLE SWITCH
• CLIPPING
Three positions:
-Left-MOSFET "hard clipping" (distortion/fuzz)
-Middle-no clipping (dirty boost/drive)
-Right-LED "soft clipping" (drive/distortion)
F = frequency control is directly tied to the M = mid EQ control which has a sweepable frequency of 220hz-720hz.
Inside you’ll notice there are SEVEN TRIM POTS: (not to worry, I've pre-set them before shipping)
Many of you will immediately want to go in and tweak these.
You can always refer to the close up photo of the trim pots to reset these.
LEFT TO RIGHT
• PRESENCE - passive low pass filter which can take off some of the shrill highs while leaving those high mids crisp.
• CLEAN VOL - sets the maximum volume of the clean signal (which can boost well above unity)
• DIRT VOL - sets the maximum volume of the effect (which has significantly more output than an HM2)
• [LOW PASS] - passive low pass filter which rolls off highs of the clean blend (CLEAN ONLY)
• [CLEAN BASS] amount of bass boost (CLEAN ONLY)
• [BASS FQ] (frequency) - adjustable between 50hz-160hz (CLEAN ONLY)
• DEPTH - a high pass filter in the gain stage which sets the "tightness" of the drive/distortion. "Tighter" settings also increase gain.
Finally I’ve gone with the “W” taper pots (audio for the first part of the rotation, linear for the middle and reverse audio for the last part of the rotation) so they actually are balanced at noon and cut or boost from there.
All BLACKHAWK pedals and preamps are true bypass and standard “one spot style” 9v, Negative tip, 2.1mm barrel.
