VALHALLA FUZZ MKII
With parallel clean blend and boosted output.

From meaty vintage midrange to dark modern metal tones, your tone will rise from the dead to fill the great hall of the gods!

A seemingly endless variety sludgy brutal tones can be found within.
• The Mid and Tone controls are a semi-parametric notch filter which let you shape the perfect midrange and sparkle
• The depth control and bass boost switch control how thick the low end is.

To keep it sturdy even in the heaviest use the PCB has:
• Handwired jacks,
• Foot switches
• Power connector

Rather than a clean “blend” which reduces the output of the dirt signal as the clean is brought in, the “clean volume”
•Use it with bass OR for blending other drive pedals in into it!

The VALHALLA includes a completely transparent impedance correction transformer.
•Blackhawk fuzz pedals can be placed anywhere in your guitar chain.
•You never have to worry about buffers or active pickups getting in the way of your tone.

VALKYRIE DRIVE

The VALKYRIE has been my been quest for some time now for a tube amp saturated opamp drive pedal with the ability to get both tight and wooly.
•Can be used for guitar, baritone or bass equally well.
•DEPTH trim pot that lets you set the cutoff of the first gain stage from the classic 720hz of the TS down to a thick and heavy 200hz.
•Originally a 741 for the initial gain stage, then the warmer/woolier LM308, I’ve now switched to the Texas Instruments OP07 as it has all my favorite LM308 characteristics without the risk of fake chips.
•The VALKYRIE brutalizes the front end of your amp with an LM386 (the “power amp distortion” chip of choice) for massive volume boost.

If you love midrange and want the option of cutting through the mix OR thick syrupy sludge, this is the pedal for you.
•The baxandall BASS and TREBLE give you a huge amount of control.
•the warm tube drive tone possibilities seem endless with both preamp (gain) and power amp saturation controls (poweramp trim).
•The previously underwhelming gain control (my own harsh criticism), has been improved for all manner of low to high gain possibilities.
•The internal depth and gain trim pots control how tight or loose the preamp chip is and how much gain it has. When these are moved too much it can make the pedal squeal and howl (not in the good way) so I felt it best to keep those as a set and forget.
•The power section clipping is selected with three way toggle for LED clipping, no clipping (a huge volume boost) and mosfet clipping (more distortion, more fuzz-like and quieter)
•The second "response" toggle has been replaced with a DEPTH control for full range cutting articulation to thick and meaty can be pushed into fuzz territory.

Guilded from the PI π BASS FUZZ:
•CLEAN BASS control is PARALLEL meaning instead of being a mix between clean and dirty, it's a separate volume for clean which can go above unity into boost.
Rather than a standard clean blend, this is clean bass, using both a "low pass" trim pot and trim for the gyrator EQ boost at 55-70hz.

(If the one thing about clean blends to add bass to a pedal is they still pass the high cleans when the whole point is to not lose bass, then why not do the thing properly?)

(NOTE: to use the URUK-HAI DELUXE for bass or baritone tuned guitars, simply turn up CLEAN BASS volume and flip the toggle below it for a bass boost.
For Standard tuned guitars, the CLEAN or CLEAN BASS will be totally out of the mix if turned down)

• Combine both in parallel with the BOTH footswitch on the left

All BLACKHAWK pedals and preamps are true bypass and standard “one spot style” 9v, Negative tip, 2.1mm barrel.
